About the Library
The Cambridge Public Library is a publicly funded library in Cambridge, NY. Our Library is funded primarily by village taxes. Additional revenue is obtained by a school district proposition and contributions from the surrounding towns of Cambridge, Jackson and White Creek.
Our library is chartered to serve the village of Cambridge, but serves residents of the surrounding area as well as vacationers and other visitors to our community.
The Library has a special collection of local and New York history materials. The newspaper The Washington County Post is on microfilm and computer files beginning with the date 1849. A collection of books, periodicals, cemetery records and maps are also available for use within the library.
