Farm-2-Library

Farm 2 Library Free fruit and vegetables each week

Every Thursday the Library receives a delivery of fresh produce and a limited number of shelf-stable items, which are available for free to anyone on a first come, first served basis. We don’t know what we will get in each delivery, but expect fresh greens in the late spring; tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant in the high summer; hearty greens in the fall; and storage crops like carrots and potatoes throughout the winter. The refrigerator is located in the lobby to the right of the door as you enter the library

The Farm-2-Library Program is made possible through a partnership with the Southern Adirondack Library System and Comfort Food Community. Many local farms are involved in the production, recovery, and distribution of this food, and are displayed on the table next to the refrigerator to let you know who the week’s farm partners are. Menu suggestions and recipes are also available on a weekly basis.
